Spectacular views of the High Peaks from Giant Mountain to the Great Range can be seen from this rustic, seasonal camp situated on a large plateau on Little Porter Mountain in Adrians Acres West! Very private and secluded location but only minutes to the hamlet of Keene Valley.
The camp itself has 900 square feet and was built in 1968. The interior consists of 1 large bedroom with lots of windows to take in that amazing view. A full bath conveniently adjoins the bedroom but can also be entered from the hallway. The kitchen is very roomy and open to the spacious dining/living room. Open ceilings make this camp seem much larger than 900 square feet. Light floods in from the wall of windows in the living room. A sliding glass door leads from the living room out to a fabulous deck. Usually magnificent views like the ones beheld from the deck can only be seen from expending lots of energy, hiking up a long and steep trail, but there isn’t any hiking required to enjoy these views! Delight in mornings spent on the deck with that first cup of coffee and relish evenings enjoying your dinner and watching the sunset. It doesn’t get much better than this!
Certainly an added bonus with this property is the unique, octagon-shaped guest house located within a short walk from the main camp but also just far enough away to give some solitude and privacy. This structure was built in 1972 and consists of 639 square feet. The interior has a large living area with two built-in twin beds which cleverly slide under shelving during the day for added space. A nice size kitchen, full bath and storage area complete the interior layout. Outside, a covered porch may be enjoyed which can be converted to a screened-in porch with screens constructed to be easily put in place or removed when not needed.
The two buildings are situated on approximately 5.31 wooded acres. The land itself forms a very nice, large plateau and affords mountain views from many different directions including great views behind the camp as well as those incredible views from the front. Large boulders, including some great flat boulders which can be used as part of the path leading from the main camp to the guest house, beautiful pines and hardwoods complete the wonderful wilderness setting.
If you’ve ever dreamed of owning your own rustic, seasonal camp in the woods with incredible mountain views, then stop dreaming, this is the one you’ve been waiting to discover. Secluded but close to lots of amenities too. Only five minutes away is the Garden Trailhead which is one of the most popular trailheads in the area. Keene Valley is only a few minutes away too. There you’ll find several restaurants, shops, a grocery store and hardware store. The quaint village of Lake Placid with its fine restaurants and Olympic venues is located only 30 minutes away. Skiing at Whiteface Mountain is also close by. International airports at Albany, New York, Burlington, Vermont and Montreal, Canada are all within a two hour drive.
